Run dua in the browser

Measure how much space directories take, with an aggregate report or an interactive browser.

Try it live

Nothing is downloaded until you press Run.

catalog app

Aggregate the size of two directories

Installs dua 2.37.0 from the signed catalog (every chunk is verified before it is written), then runs the commands below in the VM's shell.

bash
dua --version
dua aggregate a b
loading…
Expected output
$ dua --version
dua 2.37.0
$ dua aggregate a b
    512   B b
   2.00 KiB a
   2.50 KiB total

What it is

dua (Disk Usage Analyzer) walks directories in parallel and reports their sizes; dua interactive lets you browse and delete in a terminal UI. In NanoVM it measures the in-memory filesystem, for example how much an installed app or a generated build output weighs.

Install and run it from your page

With the SDK, installApp resolves dua in the signed index, fetches its content-addressed chunks from the CDN, verifies each one and writes the files into the VM. Details in Installing catalog apps.

javascript
import { createNano } from "@userland-run/nano-sdk";

const nano = await createNano({ image: { wasm: "/nano/console.wasm" }, ramMB: 512 });
await nano.installApp("dua"); // signature-verified, cached in OPFS

const r = await nano.shExec("dua --version");
console.log(r.stdout);

Typical usage of the upstream command-line tool:

bash
dua aggregate node_modules dist
