Run dasel in the browser

Select, put and delete data in JSON, YAML, TOML, XML, CSV and more with a single selector syntax.

Caution · No live sample on this page: On NanoVM v0.2.1 the Go runtime fails to start: with the default 512 MB guest it aborts with fatal error: failed to reserve page summary memory, and with the 1.8 GB guest it did not finish starting within the sample's instruction budget — so even dasel --version cannot run in the browser yet. The package installs and verifies; it is listed so the page is ready once Go binaries are supported.

What it is

dasel (data selector) reads structured documents in many formats and queries or modifies them with one selector language, converting between formats on the way. It replaces a separate jq, yq and xmlstarlet for everyday config edits.

Install and run it from your page

With the SDK, installApp resolves dasel in the signed index, fetches its content-addressed chunks from the CDN, verifies each one and writes the files into the VM. Details in Installing catalog apps.

javascript
import { createNano } from "@userland-run/nano-sdk";

const nano = await createNano({ image: { wasm: "/nano/console.wasm" } });
await nano.installApp("dasel"); // signature-verified, cached in OPFS
// Installs and verifies today; see the note at the top of this page before running it.

Typical usage of the upstream command-line tool:

bash
dasel -i yaml -o json < docker-compose.yml
